Sensational Win: ‘Russian Giant’ Valuev lost to ‘White Tyson’ Chagaev

In a fight for the WBA Champion Title Ruslan ‘White Tyson’ Chagaev won by split decision after 12 rounds of rumble.


First rounds didn’t promise there would be a sensation. But by the middle of the match Chagaev started justifying his nickname. He was landing punches in the Valuev’s head more and more often.

Valuev wasn’t prepared for that. He looked like a kid trying to keep Chagaev at distance. Valuev’s jabs couldn’t help him. In the round 12 Valuev was about to collapse. He apparently looked fatigued. But huge difference in size couldn’t let Chagaev knock Valuev out.

Nevertheless, the scorecards were as follows: 114:114, 113:115, 111:117 in favor of the new champion Ruslan 'White Tyson' Chagaev.
